Title:
Lost in Transition, Photos for Photography Fellowship in Africa
Location:
Georgia
Georgia. Nikozi, A Settlement near Tskhinvali, South Ossetia. A mother with her four children now back in Nikozi after they escaped the russian troops that invaded their village. After South Ossetian war in 2008 their house was bombed, they now live in their grandparents house, which survived the bombing.
My country (Georgia Rep.) has been through constant conflicts, some of my family members died in war, some of my friends were forced to move from their homes. I feel closely connected with the subjects I am documenting.
I have learned that there are many challenges in life that you face and have to overcome them as a photographer and morally as a human. you have to face the human emotions and different situations and deal with them.
I want my photographs to make people feel something emotionally and let the people think about how and what its like for others in different regions. We live our lives and forget that there are so many struggling. I think it lets us see many aspects of our own lives from the new perspective.
