Jadugoda, is famous of Adivasi means native tribes in India. It's one of indigenous region in Jharkhand state, which is 200km away from Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand.
The state also doesn't have any world heritages, of all things. But it has more huge underground resources than any other states.
All we can see is spread of just deep forest and beautiful rice field.
What happened here was backed in 1966. Some uranium veins were found by Uranium Corporation Of Indian Limited (UCIL). After that, the environment was getting changed slowly and slowly.
4-5 years later, babies with congenital deformity began to appear. Then the people living believed that it must be because of the devil or supernatural.
Even now, some of them still think so.
Hajime Kimura , b.1982, is Japanese photographer, graduated from architecture at Shibaura institute of technology, Tokyo in 2005 . And graduated from photojournalism at Nihon Photography Institute ,Tokyo in 2007. After that I'm traveling around Eurasia continent to cover social issue as a freelance photographer with becoming pupil of documentary photographer , Mr.Kenji Higuchi. In these days, I've been proceeding to social project in India, Burma and Japan.
This time, I've launched to Indian social issues. Both are ongoing project in city center and rural area.These are rural area side story.
Now I’m based in Tokyo with contributing to Asia media. And joining TDPW(Tokyo Documentary Photography Workshop)2011.
