Children sit patiently while listening to a teacher.
There are approximately 437,500 children living on the streets in Tanzania. The root causes behind children taking to the streets are complex and varied, however most children leave home to escape hunger, abuse or neglect. The children in these photos have been rescued from the street by Amani Children’s Home, an organization that strives to reunite children with their families, and a youth program for girls.
