Occupy Wall Street's spirit mobilized citizens in communities around the country to organize and speak out on their concerns for the direction our country is taking. "Help!! Our Gov't No Longer represents Us"" from Occupy Portland zeroes in on the key concern that somehow our own democratic system has been rigged in favor of a few. This portfolio is a look at the expression, emotion and community established during the Occupy Portland encampment based in Portland, Oregon's Park Plaza from October 6 - November 13, 2011.
My work is Street Photography. I explore cities and how we live and express ourselves in the urban environment. There is an art in the every day. It includes how we express ourselves in our democracy. This series is about the art of how democracy was expressed through Occupy Portland 2011.
