Biography

 Spencer Selvidge is a photojournalist and editorial photographer based in Austin, TX. A native of St. Louis, MO, he took his first photo at the age of 4 and spent many weekends throughout his childhood selling newspapers for the family business and taking pictures in Boy Scouts.

Spencer first cultivated his skills as a photographer and photo-editor for Texas A and M University’s student newspaper and yearbook for three years while earning his B.S. in biology. He has traveled extensively all over the world.

In 2009 Spencer returned to school to pursue a masters degree in photojournalism at the University of Texas, which he completed in 2012. He is enthralled with and devoted to capturing the individual essence of his subjects and locations and is especially devoted to documenting social issues. He funds his personal projects with his other work.
