Sufferings of Flooding,2020

Gourab Saha | Bangladesh

The South Asian country, Bangladesh is located in the Ganges-Brahmaputra river delta which causes flooding annually. Bangladesh is severely affected by monsoon related flood in June 2020. According to NASA, at least quarter of the country was inundated and more than 4 million people have been affected and at least 100 had died as of July 28.

This documentation is about the flood affected people of Savar and Dhamrai upazilla. This seasonal flood has inundated a small portion of Savar upazilla and a large portion of Dhamrai upazill. The Bangshi river which separates the two upazilla is also responsible behind the disaster. Houses, farmland, roads have gone under water. People have become homeless, shelterless and started living on roadside land.

The whole country is suffering from natural disaster along with the pandemic. It’s really become harder to supply relief to all flood affected people. The main purpose of my documentation is to capture the suffering of people in my area. Though I can't help them with relief goods, there is still a lot of people who seek to help people.
