Faith against COVID-19

Inhabitants of the small city of Xico, in Veracruz, celebrate Santa María Magdalena with "The night of the cowbells", where thousands of people take to the streets dancing with cowbells to honor Santa Maria Magdalena. This party was held to ask for protection against COVI-19, however the population is now vulnerable to more infections.

In the town of Xico, in Mexico, the residents took to the streets to celebrate "La noche del cencerrero" in honor of Santa María Magdalena, where thousands of people gathered on the main streets to ask for protection against COVID-19. "The night of the cowbell" is a tradition where people put on a cowbell and dance through the streets until dawn. Xico currently has more than 20 COVID-19 infections, it is believed that they will increase. The closest hospital to the population is more than 40 minutes away and there is only an ambulance to transfer patients.
