Since the year 1999, Nigeria has experience a stable democratic system of government; with ninety one political parties registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to participate in the 2019 general elections.

Every political party doing their best possible to get to power.

In the course of this, various strategies are employed to have the peoples mandate-rallies, posters, campaigns, promises of better life etc.

Candidates go as far as berating the performance of incumbent party or undertalk the capacity of opposition party in other to have the masses on their side.

TEXT AND POLITICS is an ongoing work that explores how political leaders (Nigeria in context) use words to buy peoples mandate.

Kayode is a Nigerian contemporary artist and hails from Isale Eko, Lagos. His career as a photographer started while he was still a student at Lagos State University. This interest came to fruition during his National Youth Service Corp in Zamfara when he documented the people and their community. His quest for knowledge and belief that photography can be a medium of change earned him recognition and an invite to the Shell/Lagos Photo Master Class in 2015 facilitated by Akintunde Akinyele (Reuters), Victor Ehikhamenor and Uche Opka-Iroha  (Nlele Institute).

His work focuses on ordinary people in their cultural setting and often captured in portrait format. Kayode is an alumnus of Nlele Institute, meme=ber of GTBank Art635 and alumni of LagosFoto Factory, Lagos.
