A Manchester firefighter arrives on scene of a medical call in Nov. 2019.
As part of a statewide documentary group photography project in New Hampshire that took place from Feb. 2019 through the 2020 Election, I went out to cover life in my state: the people, the presidential campaigns, the pandemic, the changes to our daily lives, and the hardships of getting by. Along the way, I meet people who volunteered to help a local food insecurity organizations and pantries to restaurants helping their local communities and donating free meals, the homeless population, the protests in response to the killing of George Floyd, and the struggling families.
I dropped in to photograph the New Hampshire National Guard conduct COVID swab testing in May 2020 to closing out the year photographing the Guard giving COVID vaccinations to medical workers, signaling hope in the path to end the pandemic.
The statewide project led me to continue on documenting life in the city where I live.
