family, intimacy, love
Javier Martínez Delgue (Salto - Uruguay, 1974). Photographer and Engineer.
My first contact with photography was through my father, a local photographer in Salto. His most important legacy was his family photographs, with him I learned to see photographically for the first time.
In 1993 I went to Montevideo, studied Engineering and was able to train in many technical areas related to photography.
In 2001 I received, got married and immediately came to live in La Paloma.
Since then I have been making photography, experimenting and learning.
During 2015 I attended the photographic and artistic workshop of Amaia Guridi in La Paloma.
In 2016 I reviewed my work with Verónica Cordeiro of the Montevideo Photography Center (CDF).
In 2017 I attended the photographic workshop on Personal Projects of Ananké Asseff at the CDF, and I received an important review of my work through 2017 Magnum Photography Awards reviewers.
In 2018 and 2019 I participated in the Uruguay Photography Prize, with which I was able to link and carry out several reviews of my work and projects with Diana Mines at CDF.
In 2019 I had another important review of my “The Family Book” project by Dr. Oscar Colorado, from the Pan American University of Mexico.
These evaluations of national and international referents allowed me to obtain formal recommendations to teach Photography and face a new path oriented to education.
I am currently working on my “The Family Book” project in its “Adolescence” phase.
