Men and women are on separated inside of the church with women on the right side
These photographs were taken in the Ethiopian Tewahedo Orthodox Church in London as part of my project with the Rastafarian community. This church is an important place of worship for many Rastafarians.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is one of the oldest churches in the world and shares a common beliefs with the Oriental Orthodox family of the Armenian, Egyptian, Syrian and Indian (Malankara) churches.
Unlike the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church, it believes that "a union of the Divine and Human is necessary in order to accomplish the divine salvation of humankind."
