The King vs the people

Héctor Adolfo Quintanar Pérez | Los Angeles, United States

The No King's Day march was repressed by Los Angeles security forces, with dozens of attacks against the press and participants reported. The march began peacefully, bringing together families, young people, and artists to protest Trump's immigration policies. Trump was celebrating his birthday in a lavish parade, which included the participation of the armed forces. During the protest, there was music, dancing, and peace, until the police decided to open fire. They used tear gas, shot people in the face, beat them with clubs, and also shot participants and colleagues from the press in the back. That day, a police officer stabbed and fractured my knees while I was doing my job, causing injuries that have kept me out of work for almost two months. I have not been able to resume my career. May the attacks against the press and the people not go unpunished, forever forgotten.
