For the last six years, I have been assisting a facilty for the mentally ill on the west edge of Juarez, Mexico, using my photographs and articles to help raise money for it because it receives no government funding. I have come to feel great affection for these patients and they always receive me with hugs, laughter and warmth. They love to be photographed and, on the next visit, to receive prints of themsekves.
