Biography

Fadi Abdullah Salim Thabet has more than eight years of professional experience in photojournalism with a focus on creating impactful visual narratives that amplify women’s voices and document humanitarian stories and expertise in documenting gender-based violence, women’s human rights issues, and gender-related topics in Palestine.

He is a member of the Palestinian Journalist Syndicate and since the war in Gaza began in October 2023, he has been part of the UNRWA Media Team providing professional photo and video services to document key events and create impactful visual stories, with a particular focus on women and the humanitarian impact of the war. This work reflects his deep understanding of UNRWA's mission and goals, aiming to amplify the voices and experiences of the affected population while adhering to organizational communication standards.

Awards and Recognition:

2015: Won the Gold Medal in the "My Biggest Nation" competition at the Arab world level.

2016: Received the Medal of Excellence from the Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum International Photography Award in the "Challenge" category.

2019: Twice awarded the Abdel Razek Badran Prize in the "Reading" category.

2020: Organized the "Light from Gaza" exhibition in Beirut under the patronage of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, focusing on the faces of Gaza’s children. Held at the National Library in Sanayeh and Baakleen, promoting Palestinian-Lebanese cultural ties.

Fadi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from the Faculty of Education, 2000.
