This photographic series documents a collective gathering where protest unfolds through voice, gesture, and sound. In a public square, participants transform demonstration into a choral space shaped by songs, symbols, and shared presence. Rather than focusing on confrontation, the work observes protest as a ritual act, where bodies and voices come together to claim visibility, memory, and solidarity.
Music plays a central role in the gathering, with a choir performing protest songs from different countries, turning the act of singing into a form of collective expression. Through portraits, symbolic details, and moments of collective listening, the series explores how sound becomes a unifying force, allowing diverse individuals to participate in a shared call for peace.
By approaching protest through its sonic and performative dimensions, the images reflect on how public space can temporarily become an archive of voices, gestures, and shared human presence.
My work explores the relationship between sound, collective memory, and public space. Coming from a background in sound studies and documentary practice, I am interested in how voices, music, and gesture shape shared experiences, particularly in moments of social gathering. I approach photography as a way of listening visually—paying attention to how bodies come together, how symbols circulate, and how presence is collectively performed.
In this series, I focused on the sonic dimension of protest: singing, chanting, and moments of collective silence. Rather than emphasizing spectacle or confrontation, my intention was to observe protest as a ritual form, where sound becomes a means of connection and solidarity. Through portraits, details, and choral action, the work reflects my ongoing interest in how public spaces temporarily transform into sites of shared expression, memory, and peaceful resistance.
