Operation Metro Surge in the winter of 2026 placed extraordinary stress on the people of Minneapolis and Minnesota. For many, the usual cultural norm of being polite to a fault simply gave way. In that pressure, some found that expressing their outrage—sometimes with blunt or vulgar language—became both a coping mechanism and a necessary act of release.
