Every year on May 19, Russia celebrates Pioneer Day. In modern Russia, it is known as Children's Public Association Day. It is a holiday for children and teenagers, as well as counselors and teachers working with children of Pioneer (school) age. The holiday is organized by Pioneer organizations, which continue the traditions and methods of the Pioneer movement. In the USSR, Pioneer Day was one of the most important holidays for Soviet schoolchildren.
