Independent Syrian Photographer, uses visual storytelling to cover social and humanitarians matters. She is interested in the intersection of Arab and European cultures and has lived mostly in the Middle East.
Since 2009 she focused her work on marginalized societies from Syria as well of issues surrounding the youth in Damascus, child labor and working mothers.
When the Syrian uprising turned into bloody conflict she worked on a personal documentary project from 2012 until 2014 titled “My Beloved Broken Home” that shows moments she has witnessed during the war in her Syrian homeland.
Like millions of other Syrians, Carole was displaced with her family while escaping the conflict. During 2015, she started a new long term personal project titled “Stories from the War’s backyards” about Syrians who have become refugees in Syria's neighboring countries.
In addition, she followed a one year training in photojournalism by the World Press Photo Foundation from 2009- 2010. In 2014 she was selected to attend the NOOR masterclass in Documentary Photography.
Carole received the 2011 UNICEF prize for Arab Media Award on Child Rights. In 2015 she received Roberto Villagraz grant offered by EFTI in Madrid-Spain on her project “ My Beloved Broken Home”.
Her work has been featured in numerous press publications and NGOs.She has worked with agencies Polaris Images and Agence France Press.
