Lightroom 101

Class Description

In this four-week course, you will become familiar with Adobe Lightroom’s powerful tools for organizing, editing, and optimizing your images. This Lightroom 101 class will provide you with a strong foundation to enhance your workflow. Working in the Library and Develop Modules, we will examine the features that will best help you work quickly and efficiently to hone your skills in dynamic image editing.

The class will thoroughly cover the basics of the Library and De¬velop modules where you will learn to import, organize, edit, keyword, rate, and enhance your images. We will discuss how to evaluate your photographs and make creative decisions about perfecting the tone, color, and sharpness and noise reduction, among many other topics. You will become proficient at working through large shoots efficiently with synchronized settings and presets. We will discuss how Photoshop will still fit in your workflow, and how to move seamlessly between Lightroom and Photoshop.

No prior experience with Lightroom is necessary. You can download a trial version at Adobe.com. Instructor will be available for one-on-one meetings with students as needed.

Note: If you have the cloud based version of Lightroom, called simply Lightroom CC, that is a very different program, mainly used for mobile phones, and we won’t be covering it.
