You’ve taken the photo, now make it fabulous.
In this six-week session, you will become familiar with Adobe Lightroom’s powerful tools for organizing, editing, and optimizing your images. This workshop will provide you with a strong foundation to enhance your workflow, as well as edit your images to perfection. Working in the Library and Develop Modules, we will examine the features that will best help you work quickly and efficiently. We will explore the Book, Print, and Web Modules so you can present your work professionally.
You will learn both how to organize and keep track of your thousands of images, and also Lightroom’s powerful developing processor that will give you the ability to make stunning edits. Both novice and experienced users will learn Lightroom’s hidden features. We will start with the Library module and explore how to use simple keywords, ratings, and other attributes to organize your work. We will also explore advanced search features including using Smart Collections to auto populate collections within your preset parameters, as well as searching via text, attributes, and metadata.
In the Develop Module, we will discuss how to evaluate your photographs and make creative decisions about perfecting the tone, color, sharpness, noise reduction, and other enhancements. And we will learn how to implement edits with precise control with the global and local tools. We will delve into powerful features such as the Tone Curve, Range Mask, Targeted Adjustment Tool and much more. You will become proficient at working through large shoots efficiently with synchronized settings and presets. We will also discuss how Photoshop will fit in your workflow, and how to move seamlessly between Lightroom and Photoshop.
No prior experience with Lightroom is necessary. You can download a trial version at Adobe.com. Instructor will be available for one-on-one meetings with students as needed.
Note: If you have the cloud based version of Lightroom, called simply Lightroom CC, that is a very different program, mainly used for mobile phones, and we won’t be covering it.
