My exhibit is about child immigrants and their families who have migrated from other counties to Chicago. The focus is on first generation immigrants, many refugees, who as young children have migrated to the United States to escape povery, war, and or environmental distress. My photo series follows four families and is currently ongoing. The families are from Somalia, Tailand, Nepal and Burundi. Photos are mainly of the young children who range in ages from birth to twleve years of age. My photos show how these young children are living in a new country. Specific emphasis on how they interact with one another, play, learn, grow and socialize within their families and the larger community.
