These photographs are part of a larger series that make up a book on social enterprise in Kenya. The aim is to assess and disseminate the influence of social entrepreneurship and governance in Kenya, accomplished through interviews and photography. While in Kenya for August and September 2012, I visited four Social Entrepreneurs. I wanted to document them showing an understanding of the importance of their efforts, and their consciousness to succeed not only for their clients but for themselves. By uniquely applying their skills they are able to develop a product or process that is ethical and profitable. Once the "rippling effect" takes hold, the information spreads throughout communities, and thus the organisation is able to flourish. Documentation of this is key, it creates proof for some Social Entrepreneurs, and helps to secure funding.
