Growing up in Queens, the area in Willets Point behind Citi Field most commonly known as the Iron Triangle always fascinated me. Its streets seem to have not been developed but forged. The Iron Triangle seems to possess its own unique rhythm at a time when most neighborhoods in New York all seem to be predictable in its uniformity. Photographed a couple of years before the razing of the area to make way for condominiums and retail space I set out to capture the spirit of the people and businesses of Willets Point.
